Upon entering Yellowstone one of the most fascinating animals to watch would be the humans. Shortly after we entered the park we noticed a traffic jam. I thought that there was an accident, but in reality everyone had stopped to take pictures of a buffalo. I truly believe the big city folks would have stopped to take pictures of a cow. The wildlife was wonderful, but I found it just as fascinating to watch the people.
Yellowstone Lake was an amazing site. In the middle of July it was a cool place with cold water and fantastic landscaping.
We camped near the lake the first night, and it was like being in the middle of nowhere, even though we knew there were thousands of other people within spitting distance.
It is amazing how good a cheap steak and potato tastes when cooked on a campfire at an elevation of 7000 feet by your son.
